My name is Alexandra. You could say I'm a jack of all trades, but fortunately I have mastered a few. With a degrees in textile craft, teaching and journalism, and over 5 years experience working with theatre costumes, textile design and photography, I have quite a unique set of skills.
I have been sewing and crafting since I was a little child, sitting on the kitchen sofa at my grandmothers house in Otrobothina, Finland. As a teen, I started designing and making my own clothes, drafting patterns from scratch without any knowledge of patternmaking or technical sewing, which made my mother hold her breath as I often worked on a tight timeline, like cutting out the pieces for my dress the day before graduation.
By the time I graudated high school I knew I wanted to work in the creative field. After finishing the Finnish matriculation examination I went on to study fashion at Västra Nylands folkhögskola and Costume Design at IADT in Dublin, Ireland. In 2020 I graduated from Åbo Academy University with a BA in Textile Craft Science and went on to do an MA, which I finished in 2022.
When it comes to photography, I bought my first DSLR camera in 2012 and over the years my hobby became a side hustle. With over 20 years of experience with four legged friends of the equine kind, horse photos and fast action scenes has become my speciality.
My home base is in Turku, Finland, but I am no stranger to the road. In the past few years I have captured unique moments and created colourful costumes in both Finland and Sweden.
